Muddy Binkley

Biography

MUDDY is a Toledo-area solo musician whose sound is deeply rooted in folk, blues, and old country. She has been playing in Toledo and surrounding areas such as Bryan, Findlay, Bowling Green, and Defiance, for just under a decade and has been striving to build a following that she hopes will follow her as she pursues bigger opportunities in the future. Earlier this year, MUDDY was fortunate enough to travel to Austin, Texas, to play at Indie Music Fest, where she was able to play for new audiences. Currently getting her undergraduate degree at the University of Toledo, she hopes to be able to travel more for her music once her academic chapter comes to a close.

Some of MUDDY’s musical influences include Jack White, Patsy Cline, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Hank Williams Sr., to name a few. Their influence is present in her original music, but she still is capable of creating a sound that is unique to her. In addition to performing solo under the stage name MUDDY, she also takes pride in being fifty percent of the Toledo blues-rock duo The Shakin’ Shivers with her band mate Ryan Mangold, who have been performing together since 2016. The Shakin’ Shivers are currently in the midst of mixing their debut album and are excited for the opportunities that it may hold for them.

This year will be MUDDY’s third time performing at Waterville’s Blues, Brews, and Brats Festival, with this year being her first year performing her own full set.
